Arrival: New York City

I took the plane for New York, where I now am! During the flight, I watched series and slept and watched TV and again slept… It was very long, and after approximately eight hours , I finally arrived in New York.

So, Saturday, the first day of my stay, I arrived at the largest airport of New York “John F. Kennedy International airport” in one of the big five neighborhoods of New York: the Queens. .

To begin, I really like tennis, so I went to the US Open to see some famous tennis players like Nadal. The atmosphere is louder in the US open compared to Roland-Garros in Paris. I had a great time, if you like this sport, I recommend that you go! And the afternoon, I went to my friend’s house to rest and enjoy my friend’s company.

Monday, the second day, I went to Manhattan where I walked in Central Park. I remember I also visited Times Square where I took a coffee and saw the Memorial 11th September in the South of Manhattan. I couldn’t see a Public Library but you could see that next time you come.

I discovered salmon bagel and some fast foods like pizza at “Une pizza Napoletana” you should try it!

The next day I took a boat to the Statue of Liberty for one hour. I saw landscapes and some monuments of Manhattan. After that, I went to the Bronx!

Tuesday, the third day of my stay, I went to “Bronx Zoo” where I met some people who became my friends! So together we saw different animals like Gorilla or Grizzly bears. It’s impressive because there are approximately 10 000 animals on 110 hectares. I will send you some pictures of my visit if you want. At the end, we stayed in the park all day and went back to the hotel at 7pm. I stayed in the Bronx for three days, during which I also I visited some streets to buy presents for my family and I also learned that the Bronx can be called “the birthplace of Rap and Hip-Hop”.

Thursday, I went to the Yaukee Stadium where there is a famous Baseball team. I had a great time around a good meal after the match.

The last two days, Friday and Saturday, I enjoyed the landscapes in Brooklyn, so I went in Brooklyn Heights Promenade where I took a picture of myself, perfect for a stroll with a beautiful skyline view of New York.

Before packing my suitcase, I went for a last stroll in Brooklyn Bridge Park with an amazing view. I enjoyed it to buy some more presents before my come back in France.

So, I decided to take a plane in Staten Island to finish my trip. I took a ferry called the “Staten Island Ferry” where I could see again some monuments and try some culinary specialties like “trattorias” and again some restaurants “family pizza” but I tried just one because I think it was a waste of time to eat the same food I’ve already tasted in other neighborhoods. So, if one day you come in New York, you must try to eat “trattorias” because that’s really nice and tasty, it’s Italian food and you will tell me what you think when you have tried it.

Life in New York is always hectic, day and night, so if you want to do something by night you can, because there are I suppose a lot of activities to do like some museums. I didn’t try but if you do, tell me!
