The Sun Road
Today we are going towards the sun. I mean driving down the Sun Road! This road is one of the best. I always wanted to take this road at least once in my life for its particularity peculiarity. Its special feature? It's the only road that goes through Glacier National Park, and I heard it's been there since 1932.
First, we arrived through the east gate. Mountains and trees all around me, the view was overwhelming, it was magnificent.
However, it's not just the vegetation that is majestic. The animals are impressive as well. We saw grizzly bears, blacks bears, big Horns sheep, mountain goats, some wolves, Lynxes and lots of others animals, those animals are more splendid in real life. Usually I only see those beasts on National Geographic on TV !
In this park, a lot of historic spots exist like: the old Ranger station or the Baring creek Bridge 1931, the Reynolds creek falls the MacDonald creek, Hagstack creek falls etc.
The road offers a wide variety of landscapes, some bridges over the rivers and large tunnels across gargantuan mountains. During this road trip, you need to get out of the car, and admire this Nature, a really authentic Nature - I don't have other words to describe it!

We had been driving for around 35 miles when the car started to emit a very worrying sound. So I decided to stop the vehicle and look for the problems. I pulled over, but I was overwhelmed by this Indomitable Nature, this feeling of freedom, all the wilderness. I felt like I was reconnecting with Nature even if I was in a good old American car, an industrial object, I found this landscape like this country. Freedom, Nature, with the car, this is America for me! But, back to the car: it was just a large pebble that had found its way into the mechanisms, nothing compared to the grizzly bear which I spotted in the distance.
I was feeling hungry but we found a better place to eat, a lot of picnics were arranged in the park for tourists like me - “thank God!” an American would say. Also, this park has a lot of different spaces. There are rivers, forests, mountains, some weepings walls, lakes etc..
I'm fond of this place, all the views are memorable but all good stories have and end. We finished traveling the sun road at the west entrance gate; this road trip was just astounding, it made me feel free like this country, freedom and liberty, is one of the principles of the values of the United States. I hope you can do it yourself one day, you need to give it a try!
Comparing to the iconic road 66, I prefer this one. 50 miles is very short for a road, but just for admiring Nature, all the wilderness, I prefer going down the sun road. But we can't deny that road 66 is fascinating and a landmark in the American culture, books, songs, music, movies, were inspired by this single road. But I'll tell you all about this emblematic road, another time!
The roads allowed me to discover the USA and to travel. I was able to discover all different landscapes as well as animals. The roads weren't just for getting around, but especially for sightseeing, which made this road trip incredible!
